VIRTUAL COMMUNITY GROUP PROGRAMS

The Ecology Centre is doing all we can to ensure safe and engaging programs by moving our workshops on-line. Zoom sessions will consist of facilitated slide shows, video presentations, and virtual visits to the forest in Lynn Canyon Park.

BOOKING YOUR VIRTUAL PROGRAM

Be ready with the program name, number of people in your group, booking date, your e-mail and phone number.

Program bookings cannot be completed by e-mail, but if you have questions about our programs you are welcome to contact us at ecocentre@dnv.org.

Cost: $3.00 per person. Minimum cost of $30.00 for virtual programs with less than 10 people.

British Columbia is bear country! Learn about these magnificent animals that are icons of the wilderness. Discover basic bear biology and learn about a black bear's life cycle and seasonal habits. We share the best practices for exploring in bear habitat, how to identify the signs of bears and what to do in an encounter. You will also learn how to responsibly coexist with one of BC's largest mammals.

Hop, dive, and flutter your way to this on-line workshop about birds! In this program, you'll learn about the evolution and adaptations of birds. We'll discover the feeding and nesting habits of local birds and the remarkable ways that different birds find niches in the temperate rainforest ecosystem.

SELF-GUIDED PROGRAMS AT THE ECOLOGY CENTRE

1.5 hour self-guided rainforest tour. Cost: $3.00 per person

Take your group on an educational adventure that combines a treasure hunt and ecology knowledge! Your mission begins at the Ecology Centre, where our staff will introduce your group to their Forest Quest. Led by clues and a forest map, your group will decode the mysteries of temperate rainforest plants and animals, searching for the secret of life in the rainforest. Your adventure concludes as you return to the Ecology Centre to meet with staff about what you discovered. You'll also have a chance to view forest life up close with our amazing projector!
